Use distribution to simplify: (Be careful about the negatives!)
- 4 ( x - 2)
- -2 ( x + 5)
- 17 (1 + x)
- -5(2x + 4)
- 3x (14 - 8)
- -2 ( 17 - x) <---- extra tricky negative action here
Simplify then Solve:
- 3 ( x +2 ) = 21
- -4 ( 2x + 8) = 48
- 16 ( x - 1) = 64
