• Start a clean sheet of paper - copy the problems - bring me the answers when done
• Simplify

1. 4 ( x - 3)
2. -6(3x + 5)
3. -10(6x - 19)

• Solve for x

1. 2 (x + 5) = 17
2. 3(2x - 7) = 18
3. -5(x - 4) = -45

• Why could you solve the second set of problems, but not the first? How are they different?

Spelling
