Math


  • Do the practice positive negative flashcards (I have them)
  • Distribution - see me this afternoon

Spelling


  • Find the list of 100 most misspelled words (try)

Spanish


  • In the book - pages 2 - 3
    • Read the introductory dialogues.
    • Read the box labeled Gramatica, Exploracion del lenguaje 
    • On paper - do activities #1, 2 and 3 on pages 2 & 3
  • Make flashcards of the vocab in the Recuerdas box on page 3
  • Videos:
  • Remember the "create a new character" thing we did earlier this year? Pick two people and pick their characteristics to create a new character. Try to describe them in Spanish using the vocab from this lesson. List any adjectives in English it would be helpful to know.

Science


  • Read the next chapter in the Story of Science - what chapter are you on?
  • Summarize the chapter. What new scientific discoveries did they make? Do we use any of them today?
  • In the online Discovery Science - Physical Science section go back tot eh part on matter.
    • Where were you? What is next? Report back to me.

Writing

  • In your writing notebook: What would you do it all the electricity in the world just stopped? 
    • Connect this back to the science you read about in the Story of Science? Would any of their discoveries help you?

Based on the research project on the planets at the end of the 2015-16 year:

  • Pick a planet
  • Research the surface characteristics
    • Gravity
    • What materials could humans use?
    • What would need to be brought in
  • Which planet would you colonize?
    • How long would it take to get there using current technology
    • Research the international space station - what planning do you need to do for the trip over?

  • Design a Government
    • what structure
    • write a bill of rights
